Government Travel Resources/Government Travel Warnings

Has the State Department issued a travel warning for the country where you are considering travelling?

Current warnings available at:  http://travel.state.gov/travel

If a travel warning exists, you must be approved for travel by the Senior Staff at Williams. Submit a brief essay to the Dean of the College explaining why you wish to travel to the country with a warning, what are your academic and personal goals, and your understanding of the safety measures you will take were you to be approved. If you are approved, you and your parents will be required to sign and submit an additional risk and release form.

Have you registered your visit with the local embassy?

To register your trip: http://travelregistration.state.gov

Registration by email (rather than in person), especially for volatile areas, is strongly encouraged.

Become familiar with specific health risks or concerns for the country or region you plan to visit.
